Privacy notice
This notice covers three things: this website, the closed-beta access request form, and the usage statistics the redPeaRL miner sends. Questions: admin@redpearlminer.com.
Who we are
Red PeaRL Miner, a sole proprietorship operating under an assumed business name registered in North Carolina, United States, publishes the redPeaRL software and runs redpearlminer.com and redpearlminer.app.
This website
The site is static pages served by Cloudflare. It sets no cookies, runs no advertising scripts, has no accounts and does not track you across sites. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views and visits: Cloudflare adds a small script to each page that reports the page viewed, the referring page, browser, operating system, device type, country and page-load timing. Cloudflare states that this script sets no cookies, does not fingerprint visitors and does not store IP addresses with the data; we see only aggregate counts and never an individual visitor. Cloudflare, as our hosting provider, also processes each request (including your IP address) to deliver the page and to work out the country; we keep no request logs, and Cloudflare's request logging for our Workers (Workers Observability) is switched off.
The access request form
When you request beta access we receive what you typed: your name or handle, your email address, your cards, your platform, your pool, what you mine with today and your notes. The form is sent to our mailbox (a Google account) by Cloudflare Email Routing; the email does not contain your IP address or country. Your IP address is used only in the Worker's memory to limit repeated submissions and is not written anywhere. We use these details only to run the beta: to send you the build, release notes and questions about your results. We do not sell, rent or share them, and we do not add you to any list. Write to admin@redpearlminer.com to have your request deleted.
Usage statistics from the miner
Unless you switch them off, the redPeaRL miner sends us pseudonymous usage statistics every five minutes while it runs and one error record after a fatal error. They are pseudonymous, not anonymous: each record carries a random installation identifier created on the first run and stored next to the program, so records from one installation can be grouped.
Each record contains the miner version, operating system version, graphics card model, architecture and memory size, the settings in use (pool preset, batch, shape, log level, which pool the development fee is using, whether the licence agreement has been accepted), hashrate, share counts, power, clock, voltage and temperature readings, uptime, the self-test result, error counts and the last error message. An error record adds the error text and the last lines of the log. Before anything is sent, the miner removes your wallet address, worker name, pool password, Windows user name, file and folder paths and host names from all text. The statistics never include your computer name, your files or anything you typed. We do not record your IP address: the receiving service discards it, and Cloudflare processes it only to deliver the request.
The records are received by a Cloudflare Worker and stored with our data provider in the United States for 180 days, then deleted automatically. We cannot delete individual records earlier, because nothing in them tells us which installation is yours; once you switch the statistics off, no new records are created and the existing ones expire. We use them to see which hardware and settings work and where the miner fails, and we may publish aggregated figures that cannot identify any installation.
To switch the statistics off, set stats = false in redpearl.toml (or the environment variable RP_STATS=false); the miner states at every start whether they are on. Deleting the file redpearl-stats-id.txt next to the program gives your installation a new identifier. The complete field list is in HELP.md in the package, and section 8 of the licence agreement states the same terms.
Mail to support@redpearlminer.com and admin@redpearlminer.com is forwarded by Cloudflare Email Routing to our mailbox (a Google account) and kept for as long as we need it to answer you and to run the beta.
Children
The software and this site are not directed at anyone under 18.
